Thank you for the thumbs-up dreff.
G'day Ron. Thank you for the thumbs-up. They were all taken at Ellory Creek Big Hole - aka Ellory Gorge, in the West MacDonnell ranges 80 km West of Alice Springs.
Nice series of photo's. Thanks for sharing.
Back in the late 1970s my wife and I lived in Las Vegas, Nevada. Some would call Las Vegas arid. They would not be wrong. On a trip to Atlanta Georgia in August, the wife couldn't stop commenting on all the green trees and grass. Seeing it was such a shock to her and who can really blame her living all those years in Las Vegas.

I can relate to your wife's comments Fred. My wife and I have made several trips to England to visit her family and during our travels around the UK, either one of us would often comment on how green everything looked which is probably not so surprising considering that living in Alice Springs we are surrounded by the usually dry, parched landscape of Central Australia, dominated mostly by straw, yellow, orange, and red tones only broken by the dull green tops of gum trees and small bushes.
Our two daughters accompanied us to England in 1991. They were both young teenagers at the time and had been born and bred in Alice Springs so they were also use to being surrounded by the arid Central Australian landscape. My oldest daughter and myself captured quite a lot of of our travels on video during that holiday and when we replayed it after we returned home we were surprised how many times one or other of the four of us would say "Isn't it green."
Regards,
Richard.
