Fall Color Is Waning, But . . .
There Is Still Much To "Focus" On.
These photos are from the Edsel & Eleanor Ford historic home site and 87 acre estate, located 12 miles NE of downtown Detroit on the shore of Lake St. Clair. The estate is divided into two parts: the first is the home site and the second Bird Island. They are separated by Ford's Cove. Eleanor Ford was very fond of birds and the island was planted with trees and bushes to attract various bird species, and has become a stopover for migratory birds. The local Audubon Society conducts bird walks in the spring and fall on the island and in a typical season identify over 100 species. The island is currently closed due to construction of a new visitor center near the path to the island. Since the estate is only two miles from home, my wife and I walk the grounds most every day.
That’s an excellent grouping of fall photos, John. It seems as if you’re lucky to have such a photogenic area nearby.
Beautiful. I had to check your location because some of the scenes looked like around here.

Great series. It feels like it is a quiet, peaceful place to be with nature. I especially like the first one.
Beautiful photos of a serene setting. I especially like the last photo in the serirs.

Thank you very much, Jerry. Probably similar except you've got bigger hills.

Thank you very much, Mac. Very peaceful, some days we have it to ourselves and with 87 acres it's never crowded.
