I've been cleaning up a few things around the studio where I've found lot's of old Mac memory chips. My repair guy stated he saw no use for them. I remember paying top dollar during a shortage 15 years ago. Is there somebody who recycles them for some purpose other than a landfill?

Sounds like you're talking about computer memory, not camera cards. But there is a use for old camera cards.
For people who have cameras that will save their settings on a camera memory card I recommend finding the smallest card you can. Can you believe that they once made 1 MByte cards? Save your settings on that card and put it in your bag.
If the card is small enough you won't be tempted to use the card to take photos. If you take photos on the card you are in danger of reformatting the card by habit after downloading the images. If you reformat the card it erases your settings.

Local recycling center may have an electronics remanufacturing facility. At least ours does.

In the last town I lived in the local Boy Scout troop had an electronics recycling day. Old computers, tv and audio gear (and miscellaneous electronics). Was a fundraiser for the Scout troop and a tax deduction for the donation.
thanks gentlemen I do take our old TV' and such to a large recycling center but I though a #10 envelope of chips could be used for a better purpose. Thanks again!
