Up in Flames

I hate plumbing. I can do it, but I hate it. So, what's that to do with flames? I was at my farm today (11/05/2020) working on finding a water leak. Dig, dig, dig...found it. Started to work on the repair and another leak decided to geyser up most spectacularly on down the line. I turned off the main and informed my daughter-in-law the water would be off for awhile. She said, "OK." This was turning into a bigger deal than I had expected.

Dig, dig, dig some more...ring, ring, ring. My wife called to inform me that her lawn tractor was sitting in the front yard burning! Called DIL to tell her the water would not be back on tonight. She's a jewel, just said, "OK."

Drive, drive, drive...when I was still about a half mile from home I saw black smoke curling up from the direction of my home...yep wife was right. That sucker was burning up.

Got home, assured myself that Carroll was OK. Reached in my pocket for my cell.

There is a Chinese CURSE that says, "May you live in interesting times." To top off the evening a small fly landed on my buttery dinner roll and got stuck there.

(All images are SOOC)

I guess I've been cursed.

Oh man! Big time bummer. Ever figure out what caused it to catch on fire?

My wife spotted it (fortunately) as she turned her head to watch while backing up. She wasted no time getting off. I'm guess that the fuel line failed and sprayed gas on the muffler. Not really sure; could have been something electrical.???

The important thing is no one got hurt. Mower can be replaced, water line can be fixed and you can get another buttery roll. That does not make you cursed.

Well I’m glad she wasn’t hurt.

Wow, you are blessed to have so many interesting things to talk about. I've never heard about a riding mower catching fire. And you even have pictures. Seems kind of like a Spielberg storyline though, so watch out for self- moving furniture.

Just “one of those days” I-fox. Sorry it happened but your good sense of humor let you share it with us. Can’t help but chuckle cause we’ve all been there. Aren’t you glad it’s almost tomorrow? Thanks for sharing.
