Last October (2019, that is) we went on a cruise, and one of the stops was at Quebec City. While we were there we took a tour to a cathedral, and one of the features along the way was Montmorency Falls. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get close to it, as the approach was limited by a high fence. Fortunately I was able to take a couple shots of the fall through the fence. There was actually a trail up the right side of the falls, but at my age, I wasn’t up to that kind of hike. Anyway, I shot these two with my iPhone 8 Plus that I had at the time.

I was actually a little disappointed in the falls, as what I’d read about it sort of built it up to something much more than it is, and I had expected to be able to walk up fairly close to the base of the falls. But it was nice anyway.

Thanks, Dave. I appreciate your comments. We had fun there. There was a tram ride to the top, but we didn’t have time for that due to time constraints. Again, thanks.

I'm quite surprised that your tour guide did such a poor job for you. Montmorency is quite beautiful and about 250 feet high. There is a nice park above the Falls and, as can be seen in the photo, there is access up and down either on the cable car on the left or by walking up a stairway on the right side of the falls when viewed from the viewpoint of the captures. You should have insisted on taking the cable car and walking over the bridge above the Falls. It would have been a great photo opportunity with that fall foliage. Nice clean images. Please stay well and keep on sharing.

I would love to have been able to do that, but time was limited. We got on the bus at the ship and we had just enough time to drive to the shrine and make a brief stop at the falls. I think we had about 30 minutes at the falls. Too bad.

Good shots of the falls given the shooting position.
