We lived in Houston for a couple years after I got out of the army. I was a firefight for the Houston Fire Department. I wasn’t used to that kind of temperatures and humidity. I think it was even worse than Vietnam.
As a kid we only had an attic fans and widows stayed open. I remember my leather shoes I hadn’t worn for a wild turned green from mold. Fast forward 35 years. Wife and I lived in Las Vegas for a few years. She certainly knows what dry and humidity is now
However when I finally did retire after 40. She says she doesn’t want to live north of interstate 10
