They tried to eliminate the camera operator with AI, but....

There's a funny video over on Petapixel website of a Scottish soccer match where they had a problem with the automatic tracking AI was supposed to provide on one of their video cameras. The AI was supposed to follow the soccer ball, but instead keeps getting distracted by the bald head of one of the line judges. It's pretty humorous to watch the camera swinging back and forth between the action around the ball and the ref on the other side of the field. The robo-camera is obviously having trouble figuring out what it's supposed to follow and focus upon!

Perhaps it's not wise to trust the job to AI and do away with the human behind the camera?

Either that, or put a hat or toupee on that ref! To be fair to the robo-camera... his head does resemble a soccer ball.

Anyone have a black marker pen we can use to do a temporary fix on his head, to finish the match?

(P.S. I'm also "folicly challenged"... though I prefer to think of it as "streamlined".... so it's not politically incorrect for me to have a chuckle over this. )

That is funny, but understandable.

If AI can land a passenger jet, they will get there with tracking auto focus.

My hairs are just migrating. They keep leaving the front of my head and plant themselves on my back.

I heard that professional hockey has a way to identify every player on the ice by name. The passing between the players is so fast, and so frequent. Every wonder how the announcers can say with accuracy the name of each player that currently has the puck? Well, the announcer's screen has a label which tracks with each player....that's how the announcer can say: "Smith, to Jones, to Williams, to Brown, who scores" in all of 3 seconds.

I don't know if Olympus's AI can be fooled by a bald head. They used tens of thousands of helmets to teach it what a helmet was versus anything else including a bald head. Hopefully it can do better than a robo-camera.

I had a co-worker friend a few years ago who was also follicley challenged and I used to rib him about it until he explained to me that God made very few perfect heads. On the rest he put hair.

If you are going bald from the front - back you are a great thinker, if from the back - front you are a great lover. If you are going bald all over, like moi, you think you are a great lover.

Interesting.
It often goes so fast that I don't know if they even got it right.

As my balding Grandfather used to say, "God likes my face so well that he's clearing land for a future development."
