One day at the conservation area where I've taken many pictures I liked the look of the sky so I shot this with my Samsung S8. Some post processing was done but nothing major.

Not a particularly interesting scene BUT, I like the look of that sky! I probably would have tried to include more of that expansive sky for the sole purpose of adding it to my sky collection folder for later use in a sky replacement image. I would probably have noted the time of year, the time of day this image was taken etc so that I could try and match the lighting with another image. Personally, I can't have enough sky images to work with. Everyone of them is something different.

Thanks for noting the model of Smartphone you were using!

The image would have had some interest with something on the water such as a boat or waterfowl.

All the more reason to store in the SKY images folder for potential future use.

If that sky is to be use as a replacement, it should be a small replacement due to the blown highlight. At its present size it’s not a problem - to me, anyway - but if much larger it could be a serious distraction.

That blown highlight depends on how good of Photoshopper you are. There are ways to get rid of that blown highlight. Just saying. LOL

I agree, Fstop. My concern is that a homogeneous blown cloud highlight is still a homogeneous patch which,If large enough, is still distractive homogeneous patch of some tone of gray.
If small, often no problem;
if larger- still a distraction.

I also agree that there are some skillful souls capable of considerable artistry in re- touching large blown cloud highlights in a very realistic manner. Sadly, I am not among that talented few!
