Wandering Around Washington State

A few recent shots from my wanderings around the beautiful state of Washington. I hope to do much more wandering next year. The first three shots are along the shore of Rattlesnake Lake near North Bend. The next two are along the Semiahmoo Spit near the Canadian border. The sunset and the night shot under the Aurora Bridge were taken in Seattle and finally, the deer image was taken east of Wenatchee on Badger Mountain. I hope you enjoy the variety and I'm always interested in your thoughts/comments/suggestions.

Beautiful pictures, though a couple of the lake seems a bit heavily processed. Is Rattlesnake Lake the one off I 90 near a reservoir?

BTW did you know you were mere feet from the Adobe place when you took the picture under the Aurora Bridge?

Yes Cookie, the lake is about 3 miles off I-90. It was a gray day and I may have over cooked (pun intended) the processing a bit to add some interest.

I did know Adobe was down there somewhere. I took a couple shots looking to the north as well. Someday I'll check to see if one of the building's in those shots was Adobe.

Saxman71,

Beautiful photos, wonderful compositions. The one thing that struck me in the first few shots was that the green trees and dramatic sky immediately drew my eyes away from the stump and shore, yet I felt like the latter were your subject more than the trees. That's just how they struck me. Otherwise, very nice. jak

Nice photos. I'm from Bothell, just north of Seattle and have lived here since 1970. These are very familiar scenes (except the Semiahmoo ones) and are great examples of this area. Used to hunt or just drive around to see animals around Badger Mt.

The original photo for my subject: The Photo that Became a Painting, was taken out there. You can see it by clicking my username and looking at subjects created. I tried to get a link but not sure how to do that on a cell phone.

Thanks Lee. Semiahmoo is a great place for shorebirds in the winter. It's usually worth the drive.
