Took some photos of Cedar Waxwing in our subdivision during jogging with my camera with 500mm lens. Thanks in advance for viewing!

I had never known about or had seen one of these before I joined UHH many years ago. They are now my favorite bird. Great set of photos.

These are wonderfully photogenic birds. In the winter, they can travel in flocks in search of food. From your photos, it looks like they found berries. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful photos! How do you jog with a 500mm Lens?

I have planted a couple of Viburnums in hopes of attracting them (and others). I pulled out a mahonia (Oregon Grape) that they visited once because it tends to be invasive and the leaves are painful to touch.

Really nice photos! But inquiring minds want to know. Jogging with a 500mm lens?? Even when I was young and strong and running 40 miles a week I wouldn't have done that!

Thank you all for viewing and the comments. I am trying to answer your question about jogging with camera + lens. The combination is not heavy at all with the relatively new Nikon 500mm PF lens. The weight is camera body Nikon D500 1.89lb, lens Nikkor 500mm PF 3.21lb, battery grip with battery 1.55lb. Total is 6.65lb. I have lens and the footer wrapped with neoprene. So it is easy to carry during jogging. I am used to carry this combo and have taken thousands of photos already. Without this 500mm PF light weight lens, I never image that I can do this and I may have missed many shots.

That is awesome, dude! You have my utmost respect... I can barely load the car with camera gear, let alone jog with it! Well, jogging by itself is a challenge...
