Countryside Around Gap, France

On a road trip between Nice and Colmar, my wife and I stopped overnight in Gap, an alpine town in the SE of France. Our inn was in the countryside and we decided to take a walk. I wanted to be unburdened of my Nikon FF, so all I had with me was an iPhone 6+, but I was so struck by the beauty of the surroundings that I took this shot.

I tried your suggestion. As it stands, the road leads the eye to the circular flat area which serves somewhat as a focal point. When flipped (curving to the right), that no longer works. (At least, not for me.)
