Please be kind, I am not a wildlife photographer, I am a landscape photographer. I was in Grand Teton National park last September and happened upon a huge Grizzly and his six point bull Elk. The Elk had been in a rutting match and broke his leg. The Boar took him down and drowned him in the Yellowstone River. I am sharing this image with you as an experience. I do not have a $10,000 mega zoom lens so the image quality is just okay. To witness this experience in the wild is just crazy. 791 is the name of the bear and he is just a magnificent animal. To watch him protect his prize from other bears, wolves and coyotes was interesting. No one challenged him. They contemplated it but did not execute it. It was fun to watch. I hope that you enjoy this image.

Good capture. An elk with a broken leg would not have lasted long anyway.
So the bear actually saved him from suffering needlessly.

Man, that bear has definitely fattened up for the winter. He is huge!
Kalina, it is not the equipment that makes a great photograph. Your eye and the wonderful narrative make this an outstanding capture, thanks for sharing.

Thank you Mike. I appreciate your kind words.
Nothing to apologize for, you captured it with what you had and that is one beautiful image.
