Hi to all, I would like to introduce myself and ask for a little advice on a couple topics.
About me, early 70s, retired, limited mobility O.F.S., keen interest in Aviculture (bird keeping), play the organ, country music, and of course, Photography. I was fortunate to have a friend and mentor who got me started in wildflower photography in the early 1970's when I lived in Perth, Western Australia, during that time I had all Canon gear, Ftb, macro and a couple of primes and this leads me to Q1. I note that there is an adapter for FD to EF cameras being offered on EBay. Has anyone used them and if so, do they "work"? Or are they just another gimmick.
I am upgrading from a 400d (daughter in law wants it) to a 60d, as most of what I want to do is take up the macro and some bird still shots. Q2. Is the 60d the way to go?
It would be good if the old FD lenses could get a new lease on life, I look forward to hearing an opinion or two.
Thanks.

Welcome to the forum. Being a nikon guy, don't have experience with canon adaptors. But as ggiaphotos said, someone will know. If you don't get an answer here, try the main photography discussion group.

Hello Tradscot. First, welcome to the hog. I can tell you that the 60D is an excellent camera. It has everything you would want for the price. Now, im not sure about the lenses you have described. All i can say is take the lenses with you when you go to the camera store to purchase the 60D and see if they and the camera are compatible. I have a 60D and i absolutely love it.

Welcome! I am just wanting to know what OFS is? If it is what I am thinking, it made me laugh.:) As far as Canon, I am a Nikon guy too.:) And I feel sorry for you.:):) But we have a lot of nice and smart folks here that put up some awesome shots with them.
I am sure if you post this in the main forum you will get tons of answers. Have fun on the site! And enjoy your new camera!
