Acadia NP Fall Reflections

I was in Acadia National Park in the beginning of October, one week past peak leaf peeping according to the foliage maps. I thought there was still some nice colors but not quite as nice as south of there when I was driving through Mass. and Conn. There were many hikers in the Park, it felt a little normal except for everyone wearing masks. Both photos were taken in Southwest Harbor; the top at Echo Lake, the bottom at Long Pond.

I agree. It seemed like the yellow leaf trees held their leaves longer than the red leaf trees.

Still plenty of color. You can see higher up the mountain in the reflection in the bottom pic. Nice catch.

Thanks, I agree about the higher elevation being a bit more colorful. It seemed like more pines growing along the coastline.

I'm envious. Acadia NP is one of the truly great spots in our country. I'm guessing that Jordan Pond Restaurant was closed to the public. Too bad ... the Popovers are to die for.
