Ever seen one of these?

I came across this guy in the woods near my house yesterday...this is an enlarged pic from my phone so the quality is poor. It’s a rare piebald deer, though not as rare as an albino. Just wondering what he’s doing in northern NJ😳

I grew up in rural Northern CA and we could occasionally see several albino deer in the fields when driving around. It was always a big deal to spot them.

Yes I have, never did get a photo tho.
Used to be one I would every now and then about a mile down the road from me.
It surprisingly enough it was around for 2 years before I stopped seeing it, no idea if someone shot it or it just moved on.

Well this one won’t be shot if he sticks around. Best I can tell from other sightings, he’s been around about two weeks.

And here I thought it was only the hunters that dressed for fall hunting season! I have heard of them before but never seen one!

Looks like it’s standing in the woods! We have had several over the years at our club in northern PA. Out of 7 or 8 of them, I only know of one that was shot. This is on over 2500 acres of private land. It’s supposed to be bad luck if you shoot one. The gentleman that shot it, probably 25 years ago, appears to not have had bad luck.

I have seen 4 over the years. A mother and fawn, both piebald. 1 nice buck and 1 doe. Have had several albino squirrels near by. The squirrels are a freak that happens 1 in 100,000. Both mom and pop must carry the gene but not be white, or so I have been told.

I hope the hunters don't get him/her.

If he stays close to where I saw him he doesn’t have to worry...no hunting here.

My profile picture was taken in Watchung Reservation, Union County, New Jersey, in about 2012. Attached is a better view of it.
