Kind of a hazy day - ideas on post processing? Given the hazy weather and the pollution - would different filters give a better starting point?

Too much foreground - need some cropping

Hopefully that's grit on your lens (the dots in the sky) and not a failing processor. Just went through it with my old camera. Using a third party app and exaggerating the contrast will make the spots stand out. I wasted money having the camera cleaned and tweaked but to no avail. The rebuild was worth more than the camera. I've tweaked the photo slightly in Photoshop in the first pic and then added contrast to the sky in the second pi. Makes the spots I'm talking about really stand out.c

I saturated the image more, and straightened the horizon.

I don't want to be silly but is that an actual photo of a scene or is it a picture you took of a post card?

Looking at simply increasing contrast in Colorefex you can see what looks like a lot of spots on the "card" Since you didn't mention it was raining when you took the shot I assumed it's not rain on the lens. You can see one of the spots in the original towards top right corner. I could have "Cloned" them all out of the PP shot but chose to leave them there and ask the question.

it is a scene that I shot - just driving along and thought it would be a good picture - I only pass by here a few times a month and it isn't this calm very often.

I don't remember it raining but I wouldn't be surprised - I will check other photos to see if the lens was part of the problem. I didn't see the flaws but had not yet spent a lot of time playing with this one (I'm very new to photoshop elements and don't yet really know what I can do with it.)

I really like what Wendy2 was able to do - thanks!

The foreground is a nice contrast, but I felt that the foreground distracted from the impact and I couldn't help wondering how it would look without it. Here's a different view...

By the way, any idea what all those dark spots are? I took out some of them but there are quite a few.

Nice job. I sent a reply suggesting the spots are actually a failure in the camera. I had the same thing happen to a Canon I had!

Yeah Wylie, I went back and read your post. Didn't realize a camera could go bad like that. I just got a new Pentax K5, so hopefully I have a few years before worrying about such things. Thanks for the info.
