Finally! Compound eye resolution. An unknown grasshopper nymph, and a young Fork-tailed Bush katydid (Scudderia furcata).

Photographed in my garden in Long Beach CA.

Hand-held Nikon D5000 at ISO 400, with Nikkor 105G macro lens, 1/200-sec at f/22, open shade & Nikon SB-600 Speedlight with O-Flash 3/4-circle Fresnel prism attachment.

The old eye in the eye trick. Most of the time mine get blown out with my pop up flash, Nice Capture. Really like the little fellow in the last photo, fork-tailed bush katydid
