Great info. It is also Teddy Roosevelt's birthday, a President about whom I have mixed feelings.

Julius Henry...Who knew? Thanks LWW.
The Red Sox win was unique in that they were down 3-0 to the Yankees and won 4 straight...that had never been done. The Sox then went on to sweep the Angels in the ALCS and the Cardinals in the WS. 11 wins in a row.

I knew, because I came across the name many years ago while doing tax research. (I was a tax lawyer for about 30 years.) Groucho had a tax dispute with the IRS arising from transactions involving the radio and TV show You Bet Your Life, and the case was litigated in the Tax Court.
If you’d like to see a history of how that show came to be, and the business arrangements between Groucho and the show’s creator, the sponsors, and the radio and TV networks, check out the Tax Court opinion at

Just to clarify: There was no such thing as the Curse of the Babe. The red sux just choked, weren’t good enough to win, for 85 years.
