dmdpeterdmd, I would identify the photographs needing to be identified, such as those of people. I would divide the images up by subject matter. I would use photo albums, but appropriate boxes might be best for you. For example, I would put family images in their own container. Nature shots would have another container. Of course you can go as narrow or broad as you want. In my case, I keep images of my wife's family separate from those of my family. I figure that when these are passed on after I leave this mortal realm, her family won't care about images of my family and vice versa. I think you will find that the process of sorting, identifying and storing the images, will bring back many memories for you . Thanks

Family members know where all the cartons are stored. It will be up to them to toss them or not. I wouldn't be surprised (I won't be here) if they wound up in somebody else's closet.
