dmdpeterdmd, I would identify the photographs needing to be identified, such as those of people. I would divide the images up by subject matter. I would use photo albums, but appropriate boxes might be best for you. For example, I would put family images in their own container. Nature shots would have another container. Of course you can go as narrow or broad as you want. In my case, I keep images of my wife's family separate from those of my family. I figure that when these are passed on after I leave this mortal realm, her family won't care about images of my family and vice versa. I think you will find that the process of sorting, identifying and storing the images, will bring back many memories for you . Thanks

Bill, I took a quick glance at your pages and looked at some of images you submitted. I am only speaking for myself here, but I would enjoy having an opportunity to look through a collection such as yours and imagine that there are others who would as well. Also I bet there are images that relate directly to your family. If these aren't identified, do that and get all those together. If you have been doing this for 60 or so years, I can just about guarantee that you have images that were "run of the mill" shots of subjects that were of no particular significance at the time they were made, but over the decades and years have become useful documents of a time no longer with us. Thanks

Thanks for commenting.

Family members know where all the cartons are stored. It will be up to them to toss them or not. I wouldn't be surprised (I won't be here) if they wound up in somebody else's closet.
