Fires in Southern California

Yep, we have Fires in Southern California very close to my home. The strong winds spread the fires very rapidly. Hopefully the winds will die down and the 500 firefighters can get it contained. In photo #7 if you look close enough you can see a firefighting plane in the top left corner.

The new one near Green River and the 91 Freeway, near the Santa Ana River has caused a family we know to be evacuated.

You live in Corona. Fortunately the wind is directing the fires away from you. I heard that 60K people have been evacuated.

Our friends live in one of the communities north of the 91 along the river. Their oldest is part of a foursome of best friends with our daughter and besides school they were all in the same Girl Scout Troop.

I hope you and yours are safe. Believe evacuation orders and follow them. Pack irreplaceable things and store them with friends until the crisis is over. Be prepared to move out on a minutes notice. Your lives are the most important things you have. Be safe and keep us informed

So far no structures have been lost. I hope your friend's home will be safe.

Very good images of a tragic event. The size of the flames is very frightening. Please stay safe and well.

Thanks so much for the compliment on the photos. I think often times people here on UHH get involved with the content of the photos and overlook the photos actual “quality “. Thanks also for your well wishes and safety. Today the wind is gone but the air quality is very smoky. I think the fires are under control.

WE feel for you and all the people effected by these fires. We had them hear in Australia last fire season and burnt out an area the size of England. Hope you stay safe. God bless.

Thanks infocus for your love and concern. Fortunately our fires aren't anything like what you have experienced. They are pretty much under control now. The wind stopped which was a huge factor.

Actually there are three fires going and they seem to be under control with no structures lost. 2 firemen have been injured.
