Over the last few months, my garden has lost several medium & large Orbweavers. This female Western Spotted Orb Weaver (Neoscona oaxacensis) has lost two legs, either to avoid predation or in a spider-on-spider territorial battle.
Here she is trying to salvage a web after the gardener watered this area. Note the single silk from a spinneret (image #3).
