I have tried to google the question of how long it would take to prepare a NK ICBM to launch. I couldn't find the answer. The reason for my question is that if U.S. satellites can detect a launch pr********n, missiles from offshore subs may be able to knock it out before it leaves the launchpad.

Frankly, after environmental changes and the v***s, I think North Korea is maybe our largest existential threat. China and Russia have more developed weapons, but NK is so unpredictable with such a large military, an unstable economy/food supply, such a passive population supportive of their “dear leader”, and China is unwilling/unable to control them. Iran isn’t there yet (and I don’t think Israel will allow them to develop nukes).

If sanctions force NK into a situation where the NK people start to question the ruling regime is it possible that if this new weapon is capable the NK rulers would contemplate a preemptive strike on the US hoping that their allies i.e. China would be forced to back the strike.
