Sun setting on the Florida Mountains in New Mexico

Really nice shot.

I was just sure I knew that range and I did. I just did not know that the range was called "Florida".

I took a shot from much closer back in 2015 I guess it was. I had spent the night at "City of Rocks" State park north of Deming and was heading west the next day to visit Tombstone and head on to Phoenix. I can't wait for the next trip, to anywhere actually, but as a public school teacher and coach, my next window is probably June 2021. LOL

Thank you, I thought about zooming in a little more, but I wanted some foreground and the sky. I'd like to get a sky with the sun reflecting off the clouds. It gets really pretty here at times. Snow on the ground this morning.

Thanks, it is nice here, minus the full fledged blizzard we're having at the moment.

That's a great shot. When I saw the title I thought, "Surely not the same Floridas a little more than an hour southeast of where I live..." yet sure enough they were. For people who don't know, these mountains are pronounced FloREEdas, unlike the state. Your beautiful photo reminds me that I want to get down there this fall (which now feels like deep winter, but only for a few days) and hike among those rugged slopes. Thanks for the nudge.

Well, I know I've been pronouncing it wrong then, thanks for that tip. You must be around Silver City then. Yes, I came down here from MN, I've seen more than I care to of this white stuff. Glad you liked the pic. Take care.
