I took this Water Lily @ 1:00 noon on one of the few cloudless skies we have had in Florida this summer. It was bright, the pond bottom made the water black. The pond was a small roadside ditch pond, but I didn't bring waders and did not want to get my feet wet. So I set up on a tripod at the water's edge using my Canon 6D Mk II and Sigma 150-600C @ 550mm, f8, 1/640, ISO 200, -1 EC, in Raw. Processed in ACR and a few blemishes removed in PS otherwise pretty much SOC.
As always downloads are better.

Congrats. Nice image. First place IMHO would have been if you you crop out of of the green leaves and force your eye to the lily.
Very nice shot Hereford! Have a nice Sunday - Joe
Very nice. An example of serenity as well as a great shot.
Exposure and rendering of that white lily is spot on. Great composition. The first prize must have been something else to beat out this image. Please stay well and keep on sharing your great work.

Beautiful! Hard to believe it only took 2nd. 1st must have been spectacular. It's just a guess, not meant to demean the shot, what if the highlight had been dropped just a little to bring the center yellow out. Thank you for letting us view.
Congrats! This image has an "understated elegance" that I especially like.
