Great work, you can make a pano with an I-phone, and a very good one. My favorite is the last one with the rock in the foreground.

Thank You. Yes, I know I can shoot Pano's with the Pano feature on my Iphone. I don't particularly like it though. I would rather shoot multiple images in Portrait orientation on my phone with about a 25% overlap and then do a photomerge in Photoshop. This gives me more real estate to work with especially if I shoot them with the Moment 18mm wide angle lens attached. The third image down was shot this way.

Right after it opened I was parked near the end and actually climbed up inside the viaduct. Without a flashlight I didn't go very far but I wonder how many people ( not workers ) have been inside of it? It was locked shortly after.

Well, that's pretty cool. By chance did you take any photo's? Would love to see them if you did.

I took some from right underneath but it was really dark inside the viaduct. I've been there many times over the years. The original opening was delayed because of a bomb threat...we had to wait for about an hour as I recall and I had collected a crowd around my Astro because I had the Park Service on my scanner and a Ranger came up to talk to us and noticed my pistol in the door pocket...she was really cool and told me to keep it out of sight so I wouldn't get in trouble. We're so politically correct now that I don't think I could get away with that again.

It took us 3 separate trips to shoot the viaduct this time around. First two days, it was completely fogged in.

Spent last week in Blowing Rock, Asheville and Sylva going down the Blue Ridge Parkway. One of the locations we wanted to photograph was the Linn Cove Viaduct on the Blue Ridge Parkway. A funny backstory on trying to get an exact location for photographing. My wife found a photographer on the Internet that told us about a spot just off the Parkway. We had to climb up a very muddy path and navigate some pretty slippery boulders to get to it. Needless to say we made it on top of that boulder and as we were there, a man comes climbing up to us and then says," Hey, are you the guy that ask for directions?"He recognized me from my Facebook page. Anyway, we got the shot we wanted and then slid down the hill. These images were taken with my IPhone 8plus with attached Moment 18mm wide lens.

Lived in Harrisonburg VA for a number of years; spent a lot of time on the Parkway. Beautiful in all seasons!

Very nice Fstop12! The best way to get to that spot is from the Visitor center and about 15-20 minutes pretty easy walk. Also bring your real camera next time with all the effort...Lol!

Thanks for the Comment! The visitor center was closed and the gate entrance was locked. Parking in front of the gate would have most likely guaranteed me a ticket from the Ranger. As it turned out, the "BEST WAY" for us was the route given to us by our Internet friend. As far as your REAL camera comment, well, different strokes for different folks. In the end, I got the shot I was after which is all that matters to me. :-)

I climbed up to the boulder spot a few years ago also with an SLR and mini tripod. Standing on the boulder was a but precarious but the pictures were great
