I don't know if it could be proven. But when you magnify them and see how many places a flake can branch, be thicker, be thinner, etc., almost down to the molecular level, in three dimensions, the possible combinations get astronomical pretty quickly. Plus if you look at images closely (see the web page referenced above), you can see that the 6 arms are not perfectly symmetrical - there are imperfections that cause differences between branches. So the combinations are 6 x 5 x 4 x 3 x 2 x astronomical. I imagine someone has estimated the number of flakes in a storm x number of storms in the world... could be some fun math.
