Here is my only (I think) foray into focus stacking. 19 images stacked in Photoshop. One of the slices is also attached to show the limited DoF.

M.Zuiko Digital ED 14-42mm F3.5-5.6 EZ
Meike 10mm macro tube
42mm focal length

Ive, always wondered. They say everyone is different. How can they possibly know that, have they looked at every snow flake that has fallen? Just wondering.

It wasn’t very cold, so these melted in 5 to 8 seconds.

Most excellent on catching those before they melted.

I don't know if it could be proven. But when you magnify them and see how many places a flake can branch, be thicker, be thinner, etc., almost down to the molecular level, in three dimensions, the possible combinations get astronomical pretty quickly. Plus if you look at images closely (see the web page referenced above), you can see that the 6 arms are not perfectly symmetrical - there are imperfections that cause differences between branches. So the combinations are 6 x 5 x 4 x 3 x 2 x astronomical. I imagine someone has estimated the number of flakes in a storm x number of storms in the world... could be some fun math.
