Filling The Wagon

Soybean harvest in full swing in southern Minnesota. This was two weeks ago, warm and dry and great weather for the harvest, today we are getting snow and gloomy weather.
The beans have to have a certain moisture level. To much and they have to be dried and that cost money, to little and they are brittle and break i half down grading their value. Warm dry weather is the farmers friend. Harvesting normally begins around 11am each day to allow the bean plants to dry from the overnight dew. The dew makes the hulls tough and the beans won't pop out.
As the combine moves through the fields it's onboard hopper fills up and must be unloaded into a truck or wagon. Using tractor drawn wagon works the best. The combine never stops as the tractor and wagon catch up and match the speed of the combine. Once the wagon is full it then returns to the semi's and unloads. Then it's time to catch the combine and get another load. There are four semi's parked in this field, thus I am guessing this field is 5 or 600 acres in size.
The beans have a shorter growing season than corn allowing nearly all the beans to come out before starting on corn. The same combine is used for beans and corn by just changing the "head" that cuts or picks the plants.
