Went to NYC to swap some camera equipment. Dismal day so I didn't wander around shooting. Just one to prove to my kids I was there.

I've been to NYC once. We only had two - half days, (half day one day - half day the next), and it rained on the second half. Hopefully I will get back when we have more time.

I like photographing on 'dismal' days. The light really saturates the colors.

no matter how bad the day is in nyc there is always something to photograph..i live there and no matter how many times i go out there is something new and exciting to photograph.new yorkers aren't hindered from going about their everyday lives just because of a little gloom in the weather..rain just gives a different atmosphere..come back to new york and try again...lol

New Yorkers may not be hindered by a little adverse weather, but what about photographers point cameras at them?

Most people don't notice that you are taking their photos ..I'm sure I'm in many myself..I have had a few encounters from the beggars but I just tell them if they have the right to beg in a public place then I am in my rights to photograph them in a public place.. Mostly I just shoot the picture and move on..of course you need to be careful anywhere of what you take photos of..for instance you can't take photographs around the FBI building..but go to places like grand central station and it is filled to the brim with people ..I just avoid children or parks because I don't feel comfortable about it..I wouldn't want my own photographed by strangers either because we live in a wary society ..just use discretion
