I am having a terrible time finding a bag, to hold a Nikon P1000, external flash and battery charger, etc. Appreciate any help, thanks.

Have you gone to a local camera shop?
Compared the "packed" images on placed like B&H to see where what you have may fit?
(A lot depends on the "etc.".)

To me a camera bag is a totally personal choice.
What works for me may not work for someone else, and vice-versa.
For day trips? Hold everything you own?

Hi Mike,
I'm using a small, soft-side fishing tackle bag I got from Cabela's for less than $25.00. Take care & ...

I use an Amazon Basics bag. Holds my D300, three lenses (18-55,55-200,35-105), hood for 55-200, manual, extra battery, remote release, extra memory chip, charger and cords, camera to USB and a couple of other things.

Works for me and it's $26.

They have a slightly smaller one that might be perfect for your P1000

$10 and free one day delivery and free return.

Sadly the closest thing we have to a camera store is a Best Buy about 50 miles away. I don't consider Best Buy to be a camera store. So, no I have not been to a camera store. I would think about going to NYC, but due to the virus, I can't.

Actually that was my first choice. It came and the camera didn't fit. I had to return it. I love Amazon.

No, they sell cameras. That's about it... maybe a bag or three.

I purchased my messenger bag and backpack from B&H after just looking at the images of the inside and figuring of what I had and wanted to pack. They work nicely so far. (and I have a camera store near me, but there are hundreds of bags available, and even camera stores can't stock them all.)

Are you looking for bag to keep in the car, or would it be for travel (airlines, trains, etc.)? The Accessories page on B&H (and probably Adorama) would list bag options for that camera. I have both the P900 and the P1000. I have found that if I am not constrained by space, the Ruggard bags work very well. I have the Commando 36 bag for my P1000 and it easily holds all I need to travel and fits under an airline seat or in the overhead compartment. Hope this helps a bit.

I use a K & F Concept bag when I want to carry all my equipment.

https://www.amazon.com/Concept-Multi-Functional-Polyester-Waterproof-Photography/dp/B06XJ31YXW/ref=sr_1_10?dchild=1&hvadid=77721859820144&hvbmt=be&hvdev=c&hvqmt=e&keywords=k+%26+f+camera+bag&qid=1603109477&sr=8-10&tag=mh0b-20

It's comfortable with padded straps and has lots of moveable dividers and pockets for every possible lens and piece of equipment. However, its a fairly big backpack and when I just want to take my camera and maybe one additional lens, I bought the smallest bag I could, from my local camera store. It's about as big as a shoe box and is easily thrown in the back seat if I'm going on a hike and want to make sure I have a camera in case I need it.

Try the Event Messenger line from Lowenpro. I also use a canvas bag which doesn't look like a camera bag. Easy to find foam to stop stuff rattling around!

It all depends on the type of bag you want for this camera and if it will be used to hold other things too, like a water bottle, passport, etc.

A sling type bag from Think Tank might work. Or a belt pouch/bag. Or a small backpack.

Stick to those that make good products designed for photo stuff. Of just look at bags for outdoor use offered by REI and LL Bean.
