Hi, I got a passing validation, but then later went to Color Adjustment/Color Mode/and then scrolled down to select "Calibration 1" from the submenu to the right of Color Mode. It jumped down past "Calibration 1" and "Calibration 2" to "Custom 1." I move the cursor upward in hopes of selecting "Calibration 1,' but it jumps to "Low Blue Light," bypassing "Calibration 2" and "Calibration 2."
I clicked on the Palette Master software, the X-Rite plugged in, and went over the settings I chose. I'm positive it was set for "Calibration 1." And it doesn't seem to offer a "Custom 1" setting in that spot. I had chosen Photographer Adobe RGB, matrix, absolute black. I also emailed a tech at BenQ, and he doesn't know what to make of this, either. After I got his response, I thought, maybe because only screen 2 (the BenQ's) was selected for when I did the calibration, I needed to select for it to access my calibration. Tried that, no difference. "Standard" is what is checked at present, apparently the factory default. It's a new monitor.
Maybe one of the Ugly Hedgehogs can do one better than BenQ and tell me what's wrong?

Hi Bruce,
When making your selections in setup, you said you chose Photographer AdobeRGB. In the next area after that, did you by chance choose "Panel Native"? If you did, that will change the Photographer AdobeRGB from Calibration 1 or 2 to the "Custom" setting.
Here is a video for Benq setup by Art Suwansang, a Benq and X-Rite ambassador. He goes through doing setup and calibration on both a Mac and PC. If you are using a PC, skip ahead to around the 22 minute mark and you will see what I am talking about. Hope this helps.

Art's videos have been very helpful. Studied a number of them carefully before I attempted any of the many calibrations before I got a passing validation. No, I selected Adobe RGB. As you say, had I selected Panel Native, that would have shifted that slot to "Custom," but by all I've been able to ascertain, that wouldn't have changed "Calibration 1" to "Custom 1,' even if I had chosen Panel Native.
I got back in touch with BenQ. If we can't figure this out, he's getting more informed technical help for me.

Okay, I wasn't sure if that was where you meant it was changing the calibration to custom or not. I had good luck when calling Benq with a problem I had 2 years ago. The tech I spoke with was Chris. He was very helpful, even giving me his direct line and email to contact him.
Yes, I'm working with Joshua by email. Will see soon if he needs to reach out to a tech soon. Thanks.
