Monopod info...

Recently I was browsing posts and I came across a posting where someone was looking for info on versatile monopods. Since monopod wasn't in the title and UHH'S search facilities are crippled at best, I don't know which posting this was, so I'm just going to post this information in hoped someone finds it useful, or not.

While straightening out the back of my SUV this morning I came across my favorite monopod. It is a QSX VersiPod 2. What makes this monopod so versatile is it's functionality. It is quite sturdily constructed and has a wrist strap and padded handle making it an excellent hiking stick. It's height is adjustable and the bottom approximately 18 inches splits into 3 legs turning the monopod into a tripod. I have two of these and not only do they make great camera stands, I also use them as speedlite stands, and, since they are sturdily constructed, it could also be used as a weapon if needed.

This photo is the Sunpak version with a ball head attached; I have one of these also, it's just a newer version of the QSX monopods I bought many years ago.

It's not as sturdy as a conventional tripod but it is indeed handy...
