I just subscribed to this forum. I am looking forward to reading interesting topics in the forum. I have a question, "Are the pictures that I take with my Motorola smartphone different or the same as the ones that I take with my Sony DSC-F717?

Welcome aboard. Sony Cyber-shot DSC-F717 is a 4.9MP Digital Camera. How many MP on your phone?

They are both producing images in Jpeg format and are the same. I had the Sony F 707 in 2000. Great camera, but rather outdated by today's camera standards.
Enjoy the Forum!

Welcome!
Look every day, youโll learn something new, and definitely see some great work๐๐๐
THE MANUAL SAYS IT IS 12 MP. I have always liked the photos from my camera which I have had for quite a few years now. Framing photos with my phone is a small problem also.
Enjoy your time on this forum. Take pictures. Look at others. You'll learn something!

Insufficient data! If you take them at the same time of the same subject, they should be substantially similar.
Data-format is the same, but there may be differences in the number of pixels on the sensor of each device.
If the Motorola is more recent than the Sony, then there may be better processing done in the phone than in the camera.
You should take a couple of shots of the same subject and compare the results on your computer screen - then you can answer your own question.
Apart fro that - Welcome to the "hog". Please post some of your images - I'm sure if you asked the same question with a few photos attached, you would get lots of feedback.
Stay well.
Thank you, that is a grand idea. I will do just that.
Welcome to the forum.
If they both produce JPEGS, they are the same, except for the pixel density difference, exposure, etc.
They will look different because they were made with different cameras.
(Define what you mean by same.)
