Couple a questions:
1)- looking @ Gigapix AI but wondering if anyone has a review of it? I am also wondering if it could be used as a substitute for the Sharpen AI? Thoughts?
2)- I have NIK denoise. Is the Topaz Denoise AI Comparable or better or what? Experience & opinions/reviews please.
3)- Is the Topaz Sharpen AI better than NIK pre-sharpen & post sharpen, or what? Experience & opinions/reviews Please.

I found the NIK RAW sharpening very good and robust (means fast and no surprise). Topaz sharpen is very good but sometimes goes wild. Would like to hear other comments.

Here's a review on Gigapixel AI by Keith Cooper at Northlight Images: http://www.northlight-images.co.uk/topaz-ai-gigapixel-review/

I used On1 Resize for many years beginning when it was named Genuine Fractals, but purchased Gigapixel AI after downloading the trial version. I was skeptical of the claims Topaz made, but seeing was believing - highly recommend.

I have both Denoise and Denoise AI, and find the AI version produces better results, although it's significantly slower.

Can't comment on Nik versus Sharpen, but I do like Topaz Sharpen AI especially in the Stabilize mode. I had some shots where a lens malfunctioned and wasn't focusing, Topaz Sharpen in the Stablilize mode saved those images (which were heading to the delete bucket).

Since trial versions are available for free, download them and see how they work for you.

I have Topaz Labs Gigapixel AI v5.1.7 and I love it. I also have Topaz Labs Sharpen AI v2.1.7 and the rest of the Topaz products that you mention. They all work wonderfully well, however I have no experience with both Topaz and NIK.

It seems that Photo Traces does not like my reply, sorry.
I may have used too many references to the very products that you inquired about???

I have used Gigapixel with good results. I have a discount code for all Topaz products. Please PM me if interested.

Why not just download the free trial and see how you like it?

Giga Pixel is not a substitute for Sharpen AI. When using multiple Topaz products, Giga Pixel is the last one that should be used.

DeNoise should be used first, then Sharpen, Mask (if used) then Giga Pixel.

I use both products and love them Gigapixel AI does an excellent job on enlarging photos. Topaz Sharpen AI is really good and is now my go to sharpen for any photo - I use the stabilize mode mostly. Topaz Denoise Ai is excellent as well. Highly recommend all three.

I have a lot of photos shot with older digital cameras. I wanted to be able to print them so I bought ON1 as the successor to Genuine Fractals. It was OK for that, but it was overkill. I know ON1 has other lovely features, but I find the learning curves more daunting that Photoshop. Or maybe the tutorials on PS are better. But I digress.

I got Gigapixel for the same reason, finding during the trial that it was easier to use and did a better job than ON1. I’ve now gotten Gigapixel, Sharpen and Denoise and am pleased with all three.

I find it works very well; however, I also use Topaz DeNoise and Sharpen BEFORE I use GigaPixel. No use 'zooming' noise and an unsharpened image.

Gigapix AI and Sharpen AI do different things (almost) entirely. Gigapix AI enlarges the canvas (gives you more megapixels) whereas Sharpen AI sharpens the existing canvas (i.e., puts more emphasis on edges). You use Gigapix when you need more pixels to make a particularly large print and it makes as much as it can of the limited information in the source file; no doubt that includes some Sharpen AI functionality to do that "make the most of" part.

Liney, I agree with all the positive comments concerning the Topaz products. And I want to add one more thing about Gigapixel. It not only enlarges wonderfully, but you will find that it brings out details that you didn't even know were there. For example, I've restored a couple of old photos, and could clearly see buttons and eyebrows that I didn't event know were there before.

And it works very well for astrophotography for the same reason!
