We all travel by auto, and I'd like to get a thread going on places to eat, stay and visit that are away from the interstates and not cookie cutter chains.
A local favorite is 'THE HAMBURGER WAGON' which is a block off of US HWY 25 on the traffic circle in historic and beautiful downtown Miamisburg, Ohio.
It's well over a century old family owned ... fifth generation I believe ... and it has a line from open to close.
No ketchup, no mustard, no condiment at all other than pickle, onion and a tad of salt and pepper. I'm not sure what the recipe is exactly, but it's the best hamburger I've ever had. A great nostalgic trip back in time as well.

And, if you have car trouble, it's caddy corner to the service department of what was the oldest new car dealer in America, FOX MOTORS, which was a DESOTO and later INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER dealer until IH stopped building the SCOUT. It opened as a wagon and buggy and wagon dealer and repair shop in 1807.

Along these same types of eateries is the Made-Rite Restaurant in Greenville, Ohio. Same menu, long lines at noon, different type of "eating in" environment. Take your chewing gum with you. Buy 'em by the sackful. With, or without the pickle. True culinary delight!

Thanks.
iPHONE shots. One as I drove aw2ay and the other as I was lucky enough to get a parking space nearby, I still had to walk to the end of the line.
Nuway Hamburgers on West Douglas in Wichita, KS. Get your Nuway with a cup of chili and a mug of homemade root beer. Opened in 1927 and still the best place in town.

Reasonable prices also.
$1.50 for a single, $3.00 for a double ... pickle, salt, pepper and onion at no charge. $0.05 for extra pickle.
The buckets are 6 foot markers.

And 'socially distanced'. Nice.
Went to the Warf in downtown Seattle. As we did the tour we noticed a long line of many people. NOT SURE WHAT IT WAS BUT decided to join in out of curiosity. They were selling donuts that were made up fresh. This is by far the best doughnut I have ever eaten. Dusted with a little cinnamon and sugar.
They only make up so much dough and when they are sold out after a couple of hours they close up shop and go home. Be there at noon for a treat.
