I was not aware there was such a thing.
Nor was I. Thanks for posting.
Kind of looks like a small walking wig.

Florida has a few of these "walking wigs!" A friend brushed up against a tiny one while steadying his long lens on a railing. Pain grew alarmingly intense, wife sent him to the ER. She won't let him return to our swamp hunts anymore.
wow - i hope they don't come this far north!
There are some up here. I am in Southeast Pa. Not venomous, but the sting hurts like hell! Moved one while trimming a tree. Who knew?!

I thought that was Cousin It.
Good to know. Not too far from here.
Wow! That looks like a toupee.

Google poisonous caterpillars, there are lots! I accidentally touched one, it stayed irritated for days!
Many "hairy" caterpillars are poisonous.
To be safe, never touch any pretty hairy caterpillars.

Were you thinking about buying one? LOL Sorry, I couldn't help it. I'll be nice to you for a while.
At first I assumed this to be a joke, but curiosity proved that false. Nature has some very strange and unbelievable flora and fauna. Thank you for posting this warning.
I don't romp in the woods in the summertime like when I was a kid but I do remember we had stinging worms and I was stung twice on the bare back by one that was on a sassafras plant that I had bent over to cut. Why twice? Because I didn't learn the first time and did it again. They've got sharp spines covering the body.
