Morning Moon

This morning the sky was clear and the moon was a crescent and high in the sky. So I brought out my Nikon 900 and set it on the tripod and set the camera to “Moon” mode. I thought these came out well. I did some cropping and light editing for sharpness.

Very nice! I love the way they give the appearance of the inside of the crescent curving around in the crescent shape.

White Bear Lake, a far northern suburb of St. Paul (in case you aren’t familiar with the territory). From Ely to Alaska, yup, that’s a likely progression.

Ok, I know where White Bear Lake is. Haven’t been there, and we left Ely in 1951! Last time I was there for a visit with my grandparents was 1981.

I didn’t move here until 2015. My recollection of what it looked like in the eighties is dim but I think it looks a lot better now. Depends on what one means by better I guess.

Well, when I retired, we discussed retiring to Ely. The discussion lasted about 3 seconds, with a resounding, NO!! Couldn’t think of a reason why we should. Not much there anymore. I’m sure White Bear Lake has updated a lot since the 80’s.
