Just saw that B&H has the Canon 5DS for $1299. It is the same price on the Canon site, Anyone know why the great price reduction?

But Abe of Maine probably sells gray market. I think the B&H price is good. Very tempting but I only have Nikon lenses.

I have both and mirrorless camera are fine but cameras with mirrors are not dinosaurs incapable of getting good images.
This site is getting to be a bunch of people with nasty comments. Why? Why are people so un-civil now.

Just reviewed the whole thread.
Can’t find evidence of any nasty people. Did find at least one humor impaired person, but no nasties so far. Nastiness usually pops up around page 3 and then escalates up to about page 8 where it plateaus thru about page 15. Just you wait and see ..... 🍿

Perhaps because Canon has them on sale is why B&H would too. Canon sets the price, others quickly follow so they don’t fall behind.
As far as a good deal goes, it is. I paid $1350 this year for a used one, which I’m very happy with. It isn’t as fast nor does it perform as well in low light as the 5DIV, but the detail you can bring up with a 100-400 LII lens is fantastic.
I’m sure the ‘gotta have new’ guys will tout the new Rmodels, but there’s nothing wrong with being old.
