Killin the Dust Mites/Motes...

So had a few days of poopy weather with the Marine Layer reaching deep in from the coast.
So why not break something?
I brought in the whole enchillada and decided on surgery.
First thing I removed was my camera for a check. I could see two tiny whitish specs on the glass over the sensor. Well, even I knew they didn't belong there, so borrowed Betty's canned air and blew them the hell out of there, along with some other UFO's. And since the filter wheel was available, I blasted it out, too.

Had to ride out the atmospheric PITA before I could go test to see if I'd done any good, or irreparable damage.
But weather can't last forever, and I got to play last night.

No BLOBS! I decided to go back to the same object to do some comparison shooting.

Happier now! Sometimes I win.

Nice to see you've actually got a sky over your head!

Canadian Thanksgiving, today, saw our first snow storm since August. Crappy weather!

Hi SonnyE
Great work on getting the sensor clean. Neat shot with the green laser pointing towards Andromeda.

Oh, I'm great at ovens! Turn the controls to self clean, then wipe out the ash when it's all done.

Yep, #2 is the after version. Last night I switched over to visual for Mars for a little bit. But the atmospheric disturbance was rather much. I stacked up my Barlow's and got Mars bigger, but, Meh....
So I put the tube back on the imaging equipment.
I've reconciled myself to this is a DSO imaging rig.

While I had the barrel of my telescope unscrewed from the focuser, I blew it out with some canned air, too.
