I am curious to know how many of you shooting and posting in this section have partners and how they feel about shooting content for this section. I realize some of the (regular) posters shoot their partners, so clearly the answer is obvious. I am interested in how you all handled any friction over the matter; what compromises were reached and how that has affected other elements in your lives.

I don’t want to ignore those of you who have no constraints. What’s your stories, too?

My first wife was insanely jealous, so to keep a semblance of peace, I limited myself to landscapes and family. My new wife of just 20 years had no complaints until people got crazy accusing others of all manner of things. However, she still would tolerate me shooting. These days, I don't think I could find a model if I waved $1000.00 bills in her face. While I have shot my wife, she doesn't like it and now would refuse.

My desires to draw, paint or photo the nude is barely tolerated. My partner did pose for me a few times, but a long time ago.

Use to shoot weddings as side business so new wife was use to me having young ladies to my basement studio to review my work, book wedding, have engagement portrait taken. One Sat afternoon she wanted me to go somewhere with her, said couldn't, appt to shoot two strippers. She laughed & left. Came home later, I was in middle of shooting two nudes. (My local camera & film store had recommended me when they they needed portfolio photos to send clubs). Wife was not happy.

We were young and broke, so I gave her the money from the shoot, she never said a word thereafter. Would not pose nude for me back then, now 50 yrs later does on request as long as for my eyes only.

Wife shoots me nude for our eyes only; goal is to stay young and healthy, watch my diet. She doesn't pose any more.

My second wife didn't mind me shooting nudes and sometimes posed for me, but she wasn't interested in photography or helping me during shoots.
After she passed away I began seeing a lady that had posed for me, we had become good friends besides, being a fantastic model she became a great photographer and assistant, helping models with their makeup and costumes. Sharon is the subject of many of my photos,She no longer models We enjoy on photo outings and were traveling a good bit until Covid, now we have not seen each other since the crap hit the fan due to her health.
I'M hoping all of this crap will be over before we both need walker or wheelchairs.

There are corollary issues working. The main one is the level of acceptance of the naked body. We have been continually bombarded with the declaration that naked bodies are "evil". We can dive deep into the ramifications. But until we all divest from ourselves the unfounded dread of seeing naked bodies, the issues will remain.

The lady that I picture occasionally, is very supportive of my photo passion, but doesn't want me to show her face in case her children or young grandchildren ever find it.

Just remember one thing: A Staggerwing Beech is better than any camera and better than almost all models.

No constraints.
But cannot post here.
Wife has no problem either as she is a participant in the photos.

My eyes are getting old, I guess. I'm old, but not old enough to remember a radial engine Waco. You still flying a Waco?

It’s what I do and have done my entire life. This is my Art and NO one tells me what I can or can’t do with it. Your question reminds me of a man that I stood next to in a line picking up food listing to the conversation I was having with a photo student about finding the right angle of light off of a models body. the man listening piped up that he would NEVER allow his wife to pose in such a way, to which I replied “When did your wife become your slave" are you so sure she has no mind of her own.

It is an interesting question that George has put to me on several occasions when we discussed several times.

It appears confusion only because of the silly base of the question. The simple answer is that there are two types of human position on the subject, the answer is self revealing and really is not open for much discussion. Simply put there are to 'types' of position, the one is parthenos and the other is non-parthenos. To the non-parthenos thinking, the Greek temple The Parthenon is at base about virginity. To those who understand the term parthenos it is that women are not property as they are not owned by any man. The idea of parthenos is at base the basic notion of women not being property. So when I work with women doing nude modeling I enter into the event with a view to that of parthenos. And trust me, they are perfectly aware that my position of the entire interaction that holds the knowledge that parthenos is the primary base for the work. Women are not dumb, they are usually much more knowledgeable than the men they get necked for.
