I loved afternoons with Elan. One of us might see a piece right in front of us, then we would get to work. we did a great deal of work together. I miss her terribly.

There is a nice contrast between the “busy” detail-rich left side of the photo and the simple clean skin of the model. But I am bothered by, and see no reason for, the tilt away from vertical.
She is a beautiful "Thoroughly Modern Millie." I can not imagine her as a housewife with three kids and an asexual businessman husband who is a part-time minister ? ! That would be a waste of a precious resource...
"Thoroughly Modern Millie tells the story of a small-town girl, Millie Dillmount, who comes to New York City to marry for money instead of love ... "

Love the setup, holding the rich purple tapestry allows her to fit into the beautiful room setting. Thanks for sharing it.

You miss her terribly...did she die from an overdose, or what?
The angle drives you crazy doesn’t it. just drives you crazy🤯
Elan was born with type One diabetes her health was always in question. Even before she left to model in Europe where she had a very nice career. She moved back to Chicago from Brussels in the early 2000’s were she found better Diabetes specialist. We became partners right after she came home. For the next two years we tried to cover the work she wanted to do. I even did what I called The last weeks of a models life.
She's lovely. And I have always been partial to posture collars :-) Sorry you lost your partner/co-conspirator.
Tilt aside she is beautiful and it's a great shot.

Beautiful photograph. Like others I like the wide posture collar. Great composition normally when a model is off to the side or a section of the photo is busy it gives an unbalanced feeling. Here you successfully pulled of balance in a novel way, the busy left side and the quite simple right side. This one works very well.
I am sorry for your loss.
