Sony Clear Image Zoom

Sony specific question: using Sony A7sIII with several prime fixed mm lenses - V90 card with highest rating & attempting to record using the Clear Image feature during 4K HS 60 fps setting - all good - initiate zoom - it zooms in - hit record button & it goes back to normal focal range thus defeating the feature - and yes, it works with non-zoom lenses - any suggestions greatly appreciated - thanks in advance!

Does the manual say it works on video? Especially for 4k video?

I'm sorry if your question meant to answer this, but just to be sure, is CIZ enabled in the menu? Your menus will differ a bit from mine but both my Sony cameras have that toggle in the menus and that has to come first.

Thanks - turns out it was a menu issue - the magnify feature was used by mistake for the zoom feature - all good

Glad to help. The magnify will still function even if CIZ is enabled. BTW, CIZ won't work for raw nor for raw+jpg. It is great for video, however.

This is a screenshot of a 12mb frame capture with CIZ. The little guy was fast-moving so video made it feasible to get some good shots.

Pardon my limitations here. I own the a6000 and it has ciz. Did you get this still frame by somehow extracting a single frame from the video file? If so how is this done?
Thanks for your help Sony owners.

Any video editing program will let you extract a single frame, you can even do it with Photoshop, just open it as a video in Photoshop and save a still frame. Make sure you shoot the video with a faster shutter speed than you usually shoot video with, 1/250 or more, forget the 180 degree shutter rule for extracting motion free stills.

I used VLC, a free download, runs on all platforms. Your a6000 can do what mine did, my a6500 did. VLC is an excellent program with many other features, worth having on your computer.
