The flavorful faces of Turks show the lives they had led so vividly.
And I thought this was going to be a post about those giant head statues in Turkey.
I like the second photo best, nice portrait.

Hi Eric,
Glad not to disappoint. I did spend time in Istanbul and did go to The Blue Mosque, Topkapi, Hague Sophia and several other mosques where those romanesque statues were. Didn't fire so much as one frame. I did go to Athens, as well, and did go to the National museum and took a LOT of pics of the head statues there just cause they were really cool. I can post some of them if you like. But my true passion was to get lost in the mountains of Crete, Santorini as well as in Kaz and Cappadocia ( in Turkey ) and shoot candid local portraits using available light and natural surroundings. I will add a few more JUST for YOU here. Hope you like.

Thank you for posting more portraits for ME. Some great portraiture there, I guess they didn't mind being photographed?
The giant head statues are at Mount Nemrut, far away in the mountains of Southeast Turkey.
I would like to see your favorite photos of the head statues you captured on this trip. Sounds like you were all over southeast Europe.

Hi Eric,
Spent a month between Crete, santorini and all over SE Turkey up to Istanbul. What I experienced over and over again is that the Europeans are NOT camera shy or paranoid the way Americans ARE ! They aren't afraid of identity theft, law suit material, CIA, FBI, Secret Service, etc. the way Americans ARE. Can't tell you how many times I approached say a woman in Turkey and asked to shoot her and she would ask me if it would be ok if she gathered her kids for the shot !!! Point a camera at the average American and they hide their faces and hide their kids. Very obvious difference, pretty sad actually.
