Yah...what I discern is you're low on RAM and the GPU is kinda weak. Laptop? See if you can up your RAM, I'm not that hip to how onboard RAM and the GPU memory are linked but I just max all of it out on my desktops...seems to do the trick. I'm sure some of the other geeks on this board might have some ideas, too. Topaz is a RAM hog for sure and you have a couple of bottlenecks that I can see...good luck!

Agree, you are skimping by with 8 RAM. It will work but awful slow as it can't get all that it needs in memory at one time so it pages it's ass off shoveling in out of memory. Of course GPU and a SSD drive would also help. May be better to go new and bigger than try to trick out what you have. I would check with a local computer store, not a box store, and see what they think.

The GPU does a lot more than just help with the performance of Topaz Denoise AI. Even on a fast machine with lots of memory and an SSD drive, the difference in performance with a supported GPU is quite significant. Modern graphics software programs are making use of GPUs more and more to increase performance.

I was absolutely startled by the very significant increase in performance of Denoise AI 2.3 when I changed graphics cards in my desktop computer. My machine has an i7 6700 processor with 24 GB of RAM and an SSD drive. The original card installed was an nVidia GTX 745, which is low end by today's standards. It's GPU was not supported by Topaz. When I replaced the card with the midrange GTX 1050 ti which is supported by Denoise AI, performance was at least three times faster.

Has/is anyone going to upgrade to the new version for $59.00? If so why/why not?

I do not need to pay. I just upgraded and all works as before.
