I am about to change from windows to an Apple mac. Can I just download my programs like Topaz etc on the mac and just use my registration no. to activate them. I know I will have to deactivate Photoshop before I install it again.. Thanks..

Many programs, including Topaz, have different versions for Win and Mac. You'll need to download the mac versions. Check with each vendor to see if you can do so at no additional charge. They may issue a new registration number. Shouldn't be too complicated. Congrats, BTW, on a good decision.

With Adobe apps it should be relatively easy. Using the Creative Cloud app, log out of the old computer. Install the Creative Cloud app on the new computer and the installs should proceed. The agreement with Adobe allows you to install their software on many machines but only two can be active (logged in) at a time. And, those two are supposed to be yours!

Thanks Bill, I knew I could do it with Photoshop I just hope I can do it with most of my other apps. If not I have a laptop with them all on so if need be I can fall back on that..

It was so easy to switch to a Mac and I had been using a pc for years as an educator in an elementary school.
I would never go back to a pc. Apple tech support is a absolutely wonderful. They help you with any Apple device no matter how old.

Ditto what others say about Mac versions of your programs. However, some do not have Mac versions and for those you can use an application called Parallels Desktop that can create a virtual Windows machine that runs on a Mac if you need it. For me it's been just like running "Windows" but it's a screen on the Mac OS desktop. Wierd huh, but it works!

FWIW: I have great success running the free Virtual Box software to allow a virtual Windows 10 computer running on my iMac. Very stable.

"Advice" is commentary given to supplement or correct some one. "Advise" is the action of giving "advice".

...what's so sad about it? I'm one of those who doesn't want to look bad online (AFA my writing, not *what* I write, lol) and will proof my post before pushing the button. And *then* I will re-read the post after it's up, because a slip is always possible (and, in fact, probable!). It kinda bewilders me that people would be so flippant about their online personna, but I understand not everyone is aware. To me, the "sadness" is with the writer, whomever that may be. <shrug> Like they say nowadays: "...own it."
