This is from an afternoon walk along a short section of the local coastal path. There are seven of these in Weymouth/Portland Bay and another six in the Swanage/Bournemouth Bay area. These two are Queen Elizabeth (left) and Britannia. The small boat has just called-in on the QE, presumably with some provisions or other service. They will be around until at least March next year when P&O take their next decision on whether cruises can recommence. I'm told that if they were in port it would be costing in the order of £30,000 per day each in mooring fees.

Needless to say, there's a touch of PS and Lr at work here. Your critique would be appreciated.

Powerful and disturbing. I feel like I'm looking at a scene that's post-apocalyptic. Appropriate for 2020, and perhaps there is a bit of hope with your addition of the sun rays. But I think for now I'll retreat to my safe fantasy world of bright colors and happy thoughts.

Appreciate your sharing your vision and artistry, Dave.

I like this photo a lot. Good lighting, exposure, and composition.

With all these things laying just of our coast doing nothing, it feels a bit post-apocalyptic around here without my Ps attentions Linda! They just make it into a suitably dramatic image, not to be taken too seriously. I don’t want to make anyone feel bad!

As usual, Linda has expressed a thoughtful and meaningful reaction to a photo in words that I certainly can't improve on.

I'll just add that, as a ship lover, I'm drawn to all images that depict them. This is one of the "darkest" I've seen. Made me think of a background for an updated version of the Flying Dutchman...

Well done!

I like this image. It reminds me of paintings of the maritime battles in the days of the old sailing ships. More specifically, it kept reminding me of some paintings I saw in the National Maritime Museum (Het Scheepvaartmuseum) in Amsterdam. While not exactly the same, the painting "Battle of Terheide" is what I kept linking to your image, but rather than the ships of old, yours are the ships of new.

Well done!
