My wife attracted a lot of attention as she packaged home-made cat food she had prepared.

Thank you for commenting.

There were a few moments in March - the local markets didn't have the chicken liver which is part of the recipe - but now she stockpiles everything in advance.

My boys are large and eat quite a lot. I keep extra commercial dog food on hand and have not yet needed to manufacture food for them. Ingredients are in place, but it wouldn't be much different in terms of daily cooking chores than 3 more human mouths to feed!

Apparently canines and felines are very different critters.
According to the vet who published this recipe, canines are more like us, but feline are purely carnivorous.

It would be meat & veg with rice or pasta. If it were long term, I'd have to get hold of some vitamin / mineral supplements to add.

Yes - I'm told that cats are pure carnivores, though some I had in former days ate more foods than one would expect.

That is exactly what I meant by "like us".

They are curious - but apparently they will ingest things that they cannot digest.
