My PIXMA gives a mechanical bang noise when I tell it to print. It would probably be cheaper to buy a new one instead of having this one fixed. Need recommendations for a good Canon with a reasonable price.

The OP doesn't say specifically he wants a printer for photos, but if he does, an all-in-one printer with only 5 colors of ink wouldn't be best for printing photos. But being an Epson guy, I can't say which Canon photo printer would be best.

Compared to what? Cost, ink usage, ink cost, paper sizes accepted?
Wouldn't "best" be relative to the user's requirements?
Print viewer will not be comparing the print to any other printer.
Only the print originator knows if the printer performed how he wanted it to perform.
We have a Canon PIXMA TR-8520, works great for us.

Been using Canon for MANY years.
Saw the 8520 on-line, bought it.
Life is uncomplicated.

Interesting that your criteria don't include print quality. Just because the viewer won't know another printer might make a better print doesn't mean print quality isn't a consideration.

Hmmm. Mine looks good to me.
I guess I've been lucky with my Canon printers all having good quality.
But then again, that's relative also.
(I could have also added connectivity, simplicity of use, ... but decided not to. Maybe I should have included an ellipsis at the end of my list ... )

To paraphrase Will Rogers, I never met a printer I didn't like. I had a bunch of Canon iP4500 printers for over ten years, and they all stopped working at the same time - bad print heads. My current favorite is an Epson ET-2760 with ink tanks. Ink costs are ridiculously low.

I always look online for reviews before I buy anything.

Right! And look for a rebate of several hundred dollars.

Epson 3880...never has clogged heads ever if not used for weeks.
Wider format maybe of interest.
