We like Bordeaux :) We've lived here for 17 years, bought a house, and raised our son here. I don't know Poitiers or Tours well, but Bordeaux is much bigger than those cities. The countryside right around Bordeaux is not as scenic as the Loire Valley, but East into the Dordogne and South towards the Pyrenees quickly becomes gorgeous. All those cities have good access to Paris via the TGV high speed train.
Bordeaux was becoming very trendy before the pandemic, lots of hip restaurants, shops, companies, tourists from cruise ships... you can either tolerate that or you can't. Feel free to ask if you have more questions about life in Bordeaux.

I don't know enough about those towns / cities to comment. By reputation alone I would not consider Limoges as I'm more of a city boy.
Is this a retirement plan, or earlier? Are you moving with children? That would all figure into consideration.

On trips to the south of France we've been to the Loire Valley, Amboise and Bordeaux. We've passed through Poitier & Tour. Considering the political situation in the US we are strictly in the "what if" planning mode. No kids except for three dogs. Do you live in town or suburbs?
