Can you describe what this means?
I (like some here) have "helpful" friends. They send me stuff.
They'll email things, usually (like many here) trying to better them selves at my expense.
SO: as recent examples of the "OMG! You gotta see this!" offerings:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQxuN6N-sYohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYcDsmG32fwhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0cTL4gRno-kAnd because of a notso but kinda recent purchase
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Urlf9sEjqtgI had bought an "UGLY" 85mm. Dusty, dirty greasy, with a well rubbed finish.
An hour of rocket air and alcohol wipes and it was clean. Add a half hour with a Sharpie.
It's a very nice "GOOD" lens. Shoots and works well. Tiny softness top left hand corner.
How much to pay a tech to do that? And a possible return/recheck/resale because of that corner?
People are just people. ie: I may try to sell a lens.
I've been ignoring/accepting all those dings, scratches etc without noticing them.
Whomever I send it to will specifically look for all those, taking points off the "perfect" checklist.
My old russian M42 has a very slight yellow cast- good+ for me, notso for that guy.
And he has to clean it, test it, rate it, make it pretty, package it, ship it, and make a little profit.
If you're lucky, you may sell it for @ 65% of the selling price. Some people take that personally.
I have no problems with KEH. They've always been good to me and everyone else I know.
Just accept that a used product is a used product. The original owner sold it for an undisclosed reason.
YMMV
