I do have good memories of our visit (Shetland, Orkney and Edinburgh). I have some Scottish heritage as well from my maternal grandmother.

We only visited Edinburgh on the "mainland," but one of the most beautiful places of our two week cruise was on the west coast of the Shetland mainland: https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-664017-1.html We want to explore more of Scotland.

It gives new meaning to the word "rugged". Apparently the winds can be so strong that they blow small rocks up the cliff faces sometimes.
